What is food? |
ISomething must be explained here. Food is a source of energy and the building material needed for growth and constant renewal of cells in the body. The quantity of the taken food largely depends on the person's sex, age, nature of work, climatic conditions of one’s residence. It's not a secret that over the years, when physical activity decreases, the energy consumption becomes negligible and the activity of enzymes involved in the process of digestion is reduced, developing shortage of essential vitamins, mineral elements and amino acids that impair the function of the intestine and liver. However, the activity of food centers remains the same. Consequently, during this period one should take care of a diet, which could prevent the manifestation of diseases, or at least slow down their development. However, one must think of the right food not only in old age but every day in any age. Moderation will help surely.
